Most homes have built self-built wells to stock up and there is no sewer system, there are many diseases and people have to walk many miles to access unpolluted water.

As most of those who come to this project are young mothers and often do not know where to leave their children, they wanted to represent their situation and of course denounce the water issue that was a constant element of all encounters.

It was decided to work on these two themes: water and children.

We decided that each and every one of the mothers sent us a photo of their son to the mail, and to draw a lot between the photos that worked and were good to represent them … That night and until the following day they sent us more than 200 mails with photos of all kinds, from photos of first communion to photos that had been made for the occasion all with backgrounds, etc … The truth was very difficult the election but 30 had been the finalists, and a friend who came To see us at home that had nothing to do with the project, took Azul and Liam.

Once we had the portraits, we began to think about the composition, we wanted it to be a wall thought and made by them, and we wanted to give them the greatest freedom possible.

Always tell us what we have to do in school, at work, in life, this time we wanted it to be totally free, a kind of street wall, bus stop, or bench scratched year after year. Then we decided to work two horizontal bodies that merged, leaving much room for participation in the clothes of the characters, and to represent the water one of the characters, Azul, brought a drop of water under her arms.

For a week all FINES students, along with their families, participated in the creation of the mural, from idea to practice.

Giving a new light to their daily space, talking about their problems and their dreams through three colors: white, black and yellow. The result was a chaos of colors, phrases, expressions, emblems, names, stains … A marvel of texture for the clothes of the characters of the mural. It was very emotional to see how they treated us and how grateful they were for the activity, they said goodbye with written messages and gifts, everyone brought food and drinks, they put music, all of a sudden everything ended up in a party of color with a lot of message.

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

City Bell, La Plata, Argentina.
